Volunteer Opportunities
The Open Hand Pantry is in need of food and people to help hand out food. They are open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Stop by and talk to Sal if you are intrested in helping out.
The 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of the month, we serve a Community Meal in our basement dining room. Volunteers are always needed. Check in the Church office.
Committees

UUCH is a cooperative endeavor, and we need you to help us be successful! Join one of our committees, including the Building & Grounds Committee, Holiday Fair, or Finance/Canvass Committee and find yourself among friends!
Sanctuary Flowers
If you would like to contribute memorial or celebratory flowers or plants for display at our Sunday services, please contact the office at 978 372-5173 or at office@uuhaverhill.org. We can arrange flowers for you at cost, or you may go through a florist yourself.
Any information for the Sunday bulletin should be given to the church office administrator.
New Moon Coffeehouse
The volunteers for this monthly concert series select professional blues, traditional and New Folk musicians from around the country to play in the beautiful and acoustically perfect Murray Room (or the sanctuary, if more space is needed). Founded in 1988, the music series is meant to be a community service in that we are providing a safe, friendly, smoke and alcohol free place for singles and families to congregate. They can listen to high quality acoustic alternative music while also becoming familiar with our building and perhaps our mission, if they happen to be searching for a new church home. When the concert series has a profit, it donates money and/or purchases needed items for the church.
Ladies Circle
The Ladies' Circle is an organization open to all women of the church. It has served in a supporting role for over 100 years. The meetings are held at 1:00 pm at the church on the third Saturday of each month except July and August.
Board of Trustees
The BOT is made of 7 members of the church. We are responsible for the governance of the church and have a fiduciary responsibility to the congregation. We plan the church year, its ministry and its future, and work in conjunction with the minister on all aspects of church life.
Permanent Funds Committee
The Permanent Funds Committee's purpose is to consult with our chosen investment advisors and ensure the endowment and gift funds are prudently invested. The growth and income derived from these investments ensures quarterly transfers of monies for the church's budgetary needs.
Coffee Hour
Coffee Hour hosts sign up to provide refreshments for those attending a Sunday service, for an average of 70-80 persons. Often hosts pair up to share the costs and work involved. Many hands make light work, so, with many willing volunteers, the work is not onerous or requent.
Community Meals
Our church is part of a network of community churches and organizations which commit to providing a hot meal for between 30 and 50 needy persons and families in the Greater Haverhill area. Our volunteers cook on the first, third, and, occasionally, fifth Saturday of the month, serving between 4 and 5 p.m. Volunteers are needed to be head cook(s), and with set-up, serving and clean-up.
