CHURCH SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We seek to help each child find his or her own religious and spiritual identity. We respect each child's feelings, experience and ideas and encourage him or her to search for answers. We try to create an environment in our worship, classes and activities, which support the children in their search.

We are a cooperative church school. We believe that all parents should take part in the religious education of their children. The parents are the primary religious educators of the child. Your interest will enhance what we do and we hope that we do stimulate your interest and focus some of your ideas.

Each family should therefore have an adult who agrees to the following:

  • Be a teacher, co-teacher or aide in a classroom (each classroom has two teachers)
  • Assist with special events (i.e. pageants, group activities, etc.)
  • Be a member of the Religious Education Committee or sub-committees
  • Share a special talent with children in children's worship or classes.

The Director of Religious Education (DRE) will be happy to help you find an appropriate way to contribute to your child's religious education program.
