We are a Welcoming Congregation

We are committed to being inclusive and welcoming of all GLBTQQ people in every aspect of the church’s life, from worship and rites of passage to education, music and social justice programs.

The Universalist Unitarian Church of Haverhill has successfully completed the Welcoming Congregations program of the Unitarian Universalist Association and received official designation as a Welcoming Congregation.

This signifies that the congregation has been through an intentional process to begin to confront our own institutional and personal homophobia and to make the church an explicitly welcoming religious home for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning people. Being a Welcoming Congregation also entails a commitment to continue the work of education and reflection around GLBTQQ issues.

We are proud to also be a member of the Welcoming Faiths Coalition, a network of welcoming and inclusive congregations in the Merrimack Valley.

We extend a warm welcome to all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning people and their families, and hope you will consider making UUCH your spiritual home.
