Junior Youth (Grades 6-8) and Senior Youth (Grades 9-12) begin their morning with opening rituals that include check-ins and a chalice-lighting. This group will be engaging with “The Fifth Dimension” curriculum this fall. They watch an episode of Unitarian Rod Sterling’s “Twilight Zone” and then discuss their beliefs about the important societal questions brought up in the show.
During alternate years, curricula used with Youth include “Riddle and Mystery,” “Traditions with a Wink” and “Crossing Paths" (which explores world religions through visits to other houses of worship). In addition, many youth participate in the Junior High “Our Whole Lives” Comprehensive Sexuality Education Program during their 8th Grade year, which we cosponsor on Sunday nights with nearby churches.
